This is a 'sort-of' chart show though, which may explain that. Capital Much fewer ads than I was expecting. Also less speech than I was expecting. The speech was basically teasing the audience with mention of upcoming TRACKs or referring to toher shows on the station. Absolute The competition dominated the speech content. For somebody who wasn't particularly interested iot seemed like a hellishly complicated competition mechanic. Kiss This was the hardest hor for me. The TRACKs were played back-to-back, sometimes note even seprated by a brief sting. The only statiopn to do this. Radio 1 Lots of speech, which wasn't surprising. Lots of audio production too, and the DJ talked over stabs of music much more than on commercial radio. It felt like a higher quality of production. Radio 2 Lots of speech. Lots of interaction with the audience using SMS messages. A lengthy, traditionally radio-style of competition. The station idents feel a lot older and more formal than the music policy. Magic I forgot I listened to this station within about an hour. They also played "Islands In The Stream" which, to my mind is *the* quintissential Magic TRACK. Do they play this every hour? Really strong non-music conten though. The "Magic At The Movies" was an interview with Meryl Streep with a strong push to the website. The Mystery Voices quiz (whilst being nothing new) is a strong mechanic, slickly delivered. this was my test on Absolute, before I realised that I need a finer level of detail on the timings 10am, Monday 28 September NEWS: TALK: push to the website 10:05 - TRACK: Queen "One Vision" TALK: 10:21 - ADVERT: B&Q Ad 10:22 - AD: Kellogg's Ad 10:22 - AD: National Accidents Helpline 10:23 - TRAIL: Pearl Jam Live on Fir 7pm 10:23 - TRACK: New Order "" 10:29 - TRACK: some bland shite 10:32 - TRACK: Siouxie & The Banshees "Hong Kong Garden" 10:35 - STING: "Absolute Radio, now one year old" 10:35 - AD: AskMid.com 10:35 - AD: SureStart Children Centres 10:36 - TRAIL: Geoff Lloyd's Hometime Podcast 10:36 - AD: Wickes 10:37 - TRAIL: Geoff Lloyd's Hometime Show 10:37 - TRAIL: "Is this the best TRACK of the decade?"
